You tank may be too clean. Happens to me too. If nitrate is zero the chaeto has nothing to consume and will die. Try cutting back you light cycle on the chaeto area.
Why is my Chaeto Brown?
If your chaeto is turning brown, diatoms are growing on it or it is acting as a filter and detritus from your tank is sticking to it. You can rinse this off.

Rinse chaeto in cold water, pick out any hair algae, debris, or other “non-chaeto” thinks in the mass. 1 hout bayer dip in cold tap water. Replace chaeto in new 1.020 bucket of saltwater with fertilizer, UV and 12-hour light cycle.
Can you dip macro algae?
You can not dip macro in any coral dip including CoralRX. Just like fish and corals, you should be quarantining the macro. More at risk of problems from getting macro from a reefer, and LFS are not any better.

It is possible to give chaeto too much light, but what you have in the photo could be fine. Do you know the actual wattage draw for that light? (Not the advertised equivalent wattage that is usually grossly overestimated).
Should I quarantine Chaeto?
I would recommend a FW dip and 45 day quarantine to let any invasive algae or anemones to show up as well as starve out any fish disease tomonts that may be present on any inverts that didn’t fall off in the initial dip. 76 days is the safest but I do 45 as a minimum.
